Healthy Eats

Millet Loaf is a favorite of mine.
(Millet is very alkalizing)  Yum!

Millet loaf

Ingredients:

1-1/2 cups millet
3-3/4 cups water
1-1/2 cups carrots, finely diced/grated
1 cup celery, finely diced
1 cup onions, finely diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon sesame or sunflower oil
1-1/2 teaspoons dill weed
1 teaspoons thyme
1 cup sunflower seeds, slightly toasted (optional) YES do ADD
3 tablespoons whole wheat or spelt flour

Directions:

1. Rinse millet and put in a medium saucepan with water and 1/2 tsp salt. cook, lid ajar slightly, over medium heat for about 20 minutes, or until soft; the millet should absorb all the water.

2. Saute the carrots, celery, onions and garlic in sesame oil or sunflower oil until onions are translucent.  Add the seasonings.

3. Mix the cooked millet and veggies together, along with the sunflower seeds, if you wish.

4. Add 3 tbsp flour to the millet mixture, blending well.

5. Lightly oil (and flour, optional) 2 loaf pans. Press the millet mixture into the pan, and bake at 400 F for one hour (45 minutes if the millet is still warm when you put it into the pan).

6.  Allow the loaf to cool for about 10 minutes before turning it out onto a platter and slicing.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner!

feeling a blogging need in the realm of the Plant Kingdom! Who am I?

Look at Me, she says, all day long!  Lavandula You!  I Love you! in all the places and spaces you reside.  R (( Heart ))  and HEY I am usually cheaper in cost than Lavender (fine) and Lavender (spike).

Lavandin
Latin name: Lavandula hybridaFamily: Lamiaceae
Plant Part: Flowering tops
Plant origin: France, wisdom of the earth ~ (+)

Lavandula hybrida is a natural hybrid created via fusion of true and spike lavender; the different varieties of Lavandin are grosso, abrial, reydovan, and super.  Lavandula hybrida properties are therefore similar to both true and spike lavenders.  Lavandin has antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, anti infectious, cicatrisant, antifungal, hypotensive, vulnerary, antiseptic, analgesic, mucolytic, and nervine properties.

Lavandin sits on a sweet however camphorous fence, offering more stimulating features than true lavender that act on the central nervous system, respiratory and circulatory concerns whilst gracious enough to support true lavenders more cultivated qualities.  Lavandin properties encourage a strong and healthy central nervous system thereby aiding Alzheimer disease, Parkinson disease, convulsions, insomnia, and stress related concerns.  Lavandin increases circulation and is assistive for various respiratory complaints.

Lavandin assists asthma, whooping cough, colds, sprains and strains, sciatica, vertigo, phlebitis, lumbago, rheumatism, cystitis, easing heart palpitations, halitosis, spasms of the solar plexus, shock and food poisoning.  Lavandin addresses various skin and hair concerns such as skin ulcers, warts, bruises, abscesses, blisters, boils, burns, dull or dry skin concerns, eczema, insect bites, lice, scabies, hair loss, baldness, and promotes scar and wound healing.

Lavandin has a beautiful synergy that is rejuvenating toward the fatigued and comforting on behalf of the stressed individual.  Use lavandin for inspiration, contentment, transformation, happiness, hope, and peacefulness.  Lavandin brings hope to the weary spirit, transforming worry, fear and anxiety.

Lavandin isn’t recommended in cases of epilepsy episode.
